Grace Well Run

Woe is me, I've come undone,
Because I stand now race finished and run,
Before a Holy God and though I know I've run my best,
will it be enough to pass His Holy test?
Can all my good deeds get me passed those pearly gates?
Or will I find myself eternally chained to another gloomy fate?
I lay out all my cards for Him to inspect,
Some good, some bad, a human trainwreck,
I know, compared to Him, my deeds seem paltry, my efforts even less,
How can I enter perfection as such a worldly mess?
But as I lay down my final trump card,
His expression of judgment and anger ceases to be hard,
As he remembers his Holy Servant Jesus in whom all his wrath was stored,
Smiles at me - embracing his treasure - his blood bought reward.
