If I boast

Do I look like just another sweet but ignorant, stay-at-home mom to you?
That would be like me saying you judge everyone based on their IQ,
What you see of me is one side of a three-dimensional man,
Do I need to list my accolades to make you a fan?
I refuse to believe you don't understand that people are deeper than their skin,
But what is it about my religion that makes you such an expert, that now you won't let me in,
Is all your college education somehow superior to mine?
Do you think somehow I missed it in my philosophy class that argued knowledge was better than the divine?
You look at me and think poor, simple fool,
Opiate of the masses is your religious rule,
Yes, I excelled in my studies since I was a wee tot,
As I advanced in my years, I learned quite a lot,
I wasn't just a bookworm, I was the girl that always went against the grain,
Shakespeare Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and Twain,
Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, I've listed a few just to prove my point,
And catch this, I made straight A's, all while rolling a joint,
My dad was quite wealthy, my mom gave up her career,
Graduated top of my class, in only three years,
We had a big house, I was in want of no material thing,
But along with my knowledge and possessions, no peace did it bring,
I sought and I searched with no forthcoming avail,
Perhaps pleasure would hit the head of the nail?
As long as beer flows, you always have lots of friends,
But, alas, every party must come to its bitter end,
Even the few people that were left,
Are all askew and bereft,
My lovers were all drunk with my wine,
But no matter how much love and beauty I had, truth would not quiet until it was mine,
So, yet, you think you know me and judge me accordingly,
But will you be there when I go, did you exist before me?
Yes, I cling to that death on a cross,
Yes, I count all that I gained in this life as loss,
But check yourself when you claim you are judge and jury,
Because in your superiority, you may meet up with His fury.

Proverbs 3:34 "The LORD mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble."

Galatians 6:14 "As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world's interest in me has also died."

Phlippians 3:8 "Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ"

Keep that pen going - your words are profound.... so are the words of Shakespeare Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and Twain. Will generations to come speak and study your works? Generations of the lost seeking answers - you may lead. I Love you, Mom (My children were MY Career!!!)
