Lest I Be Disqualified

Holy Spirit Meet Me Today,
Guide my ways,
Without you I am a lump of flesh
without any breath
Breathe on what I read, what I do and what I say,
Allow me to build with gold - not stubble and hay
Help me believe your promises alone and not what my eyes can see
Help me pronounce healing to the diseases that surround me
We die for lack of knowledge
And I don't mean that stuff I learned in college
I need your rhema word
That our eyes can't see but our soul heard
I feel helpless when I see the pain of your people
Grant me the power to point them to you like a church's steeple
You, where from all things come,
Let me be a reflection of your Son,
Let my words be His rays
Give me courage to stand up and say
What I believe
Let the scales fall off
Let them not be deceived
Gird my dress so I may wash and serve
Tell them a message that they don't deserve
to hear
Help me to make it clear that
In your name alone I boast
May I not coast
On yesterday's prayers
Peel back the layers
of my flesh
until there's no "me" left
But the only light that shines
is from the One that made 'O night divine'
May I laugh and play
because all my sins are washed away
May I be a holy example of shame cast off
May the perfume of Christ waft
around me
So the blind can follow it to that cursed tree
And finally
May my spirit be trained like an athlete, May I fall into my bed at night satisfied
Because every step I take held purpose, lest I be disqualified.
